BATS - QTGMC

The reference deinterlacer for Avisynth – shipped in BAT Server as ready-made presets

QTGMC is the established deinterlacing standard for Avisynth in video restoration: it separates the fields of interlaced material and reconstructs progressive frames from them, using motion estimation to decide how objects moved between the fields – this keeps even moving objects clean instead of “dissolving”. BAT Server ships QTGMC (version 3.383s) as a portable Avisynth+ installation and offers it through two presets: “Upscale & Deinterlace” (2× to progressive HD) and “Upscale” (upscale to 1080i). This article explains what the presets do technically and what quality levels exist.

BATS - Scene detect

From raw footage to finished scenes

Got a long clip full of mixed shots? Scene Detect analyzes the clip optically, finds the scene changes, and creates one clip per scene – so your montages, highlight reels, and social clips start with ready-made building blocks that you just drag onto the timeline.

BATS - SmartMask

Cut a person or object out of the frame with AI – as a luma mask for the EDIUS Track Matte

SmartMask isolates the person or the object in the frame automatically using AI (model BiRefNet, Nvidia GPU accelerated) and saves the result as a luma mask (a black-and-white mask video). This mask can be used directly with EDIUS’s “Track Matte” – for example to place titles or graphics behind a person, to swap the person, or to retouch contours. No more manual masking clip by clip.

Mark the text in the transcript – IN and OUT set themselves

Finding one specific line of dialogue in a long clip, zooming into the right moment and re-setting IN and OUT by hand can quickly turn into tedious scrubbing work in the player. Cut by Text (also known as Speech2Player) turns the workflow around: the BAT Server transcribes the clip's audio track with Whisper AI down to word level, and then opens a transcript tab in the EDIUS Player. You simply select the text you are interested in – the player opens the clip at the corresponding position and sets the IN/OUT points automatically. Optionally, the passage is played back automatically (on loop) so you can verify it right away.

BATS - Speech2Speech

Speech in any language? No – in English: transcribe, translate, re-voice

Speech2Speech turns spoken audio in any Whisper-supported language into an English voice-over: the assistant-created entry transcribes the audio with Whisper (model large-v2) and translates the text to English on the way – then the AI voice engine Kokoro (Nvidia GPU) speaks the text in a choice of US or UK English voices. A foreign-language interview or voice-over becomes an English-language audio clip with the same timing.

BATS - Speech2Subtitle

Subtitles from spoken speech – Whisper with word-exact timing, in three hardware variants

Speech2Subtitle turns an audio file (or the audio of a clip) into an SRT file with exact word timing – using Whisper, the proven AI transcription model. The “Add function...” assistant offers three variants, one per hardware: Intel-optimized (OpenVINO: NPU/GPU/CPU), Nvidia-optimized (Whisper-Faster) or iNPU-optimized (Whisper-NPU for Intel NPUs). All three transcribe in ~90 languages, can optionally translate the result to English, and file the finished SRT directly in the BIN.

BATS - Subtitle2Speech

Let existing VisTitle subtitles be spoken – English AI voice, Nvidia GPU

Subtitle2Speech gives your existing subtitles a voice: the preset reads a VisTitle subtitle file (.vtsubtle) and produces a WAV file from it using the AI voice engine Kokoro (Nvidia GPU) – in a choice of US or UK English voices, with the time slots of the subtitles. Ideal for creating an English voice-over pass from filmed material with subtitles, without typing the text in again.
