BATS - SubtitleMerge

Embed an SRT file from disk into your video – as a switchable subtitle track in an MKV

SubtitleMerge combines a video clip with an SRT subtitle file from your disk into a single MKV file – using MKVMerge. The subtitles are embedded as a switchable track (not burned in), and video and audio are copied without re-encoding: fast, lossless, and the finished file plays in any MKV-capable player with selectable subtitles.

BATS - Text2Speech

Text turned into speech in seconds – Kokoro on OpenVINO, straight into an EDIUS tab

Text2Speech is the fast route from idea to spoken track: via a menu entry in EDIUS you open a Text2Speech tab in the player, type or paste text, pick language and voice, audition the output – and the finished WAV file lands directly in the BIN. It is driven by Kokoro on the OpenVINO framework (Intel NPU/GPU or CPU) – with a smart cache (repeated text is loaded from the cache instead of being computed again), a preview mode, simple input dialogs and an activity log.

BATS - Transcode

Export clips and sequences into other formats – via the EDIUS Render Engine or via FFmpeg

Transcode offers two ways to turn a clip into a file in another format – depending on your requirements:
“Transcode – by FFmpeg Render Engine” renders web-optimized formats (MP4, AV1, WEBM) with the FFmpeg engine – small files, high quality, full control over the format.
“Transcode – by EDIUS Render Engine” uses your own EDIUS export presets (managed in Mync): the output is exactly what your EDIUS export produces – identical to “Export file”, but as a right-click job.

BATS - Upscale & Deinterlace

576i50 becomes 1152p50 – QTGMC deinterlaces and doubles resolution and frame rate

Upscale & Deinterlace is the big brother of the plain deinterlacer: based on the Avisynth reference deinterlacer QTGMC, it separates the fields of interlaced material, reconstructs progressive frames via motion estimation and simultaneously upscales them 2× – at doubled frame rate. 576i50 (DV 25 fps) becomes 1152p50: progressive, square-pixel HD material that you can cut directly in a 1080p50 project. SD material thus becomes not just “field-clean” but also scaled up to your current project resolution – in a single right-click job.

BATS - UpscalePro

AI 2x upscaling with RealESRGAN+ (Nvidia RTX 2000+) – including automatic QTGMC deinterlacing

UpscalePro doubles the resolution of SD material using AI: the RealESRGAN+ AI model (Nvidia GPU accelerated, RTX 2000 series or higher) rebuilds soft, noisy or dated-looking footage into high-resolution images – 576i/576p becomes roughly 1080p. Unlike the QTGMC-based presets (see Upscale & Deinterlace), AI upscaling generates new image information: the AI reconstructs plausible detail instead of merely rearranging existing pixels. Interlaced sources (e.g. DV 576i) are automatically deinterlaced with QTGMC as part of the job – field order, pixel aspect and color space are read directly from the clip. The result: clean, progressive HD material from a single right-click.

BATS - VapourSynth Plugin for EDIUS 11

Python-based video processing, right on the EDIUS timeline

VapourSynth is a Python-based video processing engine with hundreds of filters – from professional deinterlacing and detail enhancement to audio processing. Using it in EDIUS involves two building blocks: a C++ VapourSynth plugin as the prerequisite, which is what lets EDIUS work with .vpy files at all, and the Vapoursynth Importer from the BAT Server, which appears in EDIUS's Tools menu, wraps a video file into a VapourSynth pipeline, and imports the processed result as a clip into the BIN.

BATS - Beat detect

Master the Rhythm

Editing to the beat is essential for music videos, commercials, and high-energy montages. Beat Detect analyzes a clip's audio, finds the beats, and places a marker at each detected beat — so your visual cuts land exactly on the music.
