High-resolution material can slow down editing on less powerful machines. ProxyBuilder creates its own reduced proxy files for your video clips with FFmpeg and links them directly to the clip — you decide the format and size, and create proxies on demand, exactly when you need them.
Finding one specific line of dialogue in a long clip, zooming into the right moment and re-setting IN and OUT by hand can quickly turn into tedious scrubbing work in the player. Cut by Text (also known as Speech2Cut) turns the workflow around: the BAT Server transcribes the clip's audio track with Whisper AI down to word level, and then opens a transcript tab in the EDIUS Player. You simply select the text you are interested in – the player opens the clip at the corresponding position and sets the IN/OUT points automatically. Optionally, the passage is played back automatically (on loop) so you can verify it right away.

VapourSynth is a Python-based video processing engine with hundreds of filters – from professional deinterlacing and detail enhancement to audio processing. Using it in EDIUS involves two building blocks: a C++ VapourSynth plugin as the prerequisite, which is what lets EDIUS work with .vpy files at all, and the Vapoursynth Importer from the BAT Server, which appears in EDIUS's Tools menu, wraps a video file into a VapourSynth pipeline, and imports the processed result as a clip into the BIN.
